Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joh Jah (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mauricio Nicolosi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nicolosi is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by All The Above - by Maino. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Joh Jah!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mauricio Nicolosi!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Alec Ball and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Nicolosi. Jah does a little dance to reset his feet.
Nicolosi slaps away a takedown attempt from Jah, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Nicolosi showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Jah.
Jah digs a good body shot into Nicolosi's ribs.

Jah tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Nicolosi manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Nicolosi makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Nicolosi.
Jah cracks Nicolosi with a solid left hand.
Jah throwing strikes from guard but Nicolosi blocks nicely.
Nicolosi wants to stand but Jah is controlling the position.
Jah has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Jah avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Nicolosi is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Jah decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Nicolosi, up you get!
Joh Jah seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Jah shoots in for a double leg but Nicolosi sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Jah closes the distance but Nicolosi moves to the side
and Nicolosi counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
A punch combination from Jah misses.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Jah tries to close the distance and clinch up but Nicolosi swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Jah uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Nicolosi.
Nicolosi throws a series of punches but Jah moves out of range.
Jah throws a nice looking combination but Nicolosi bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Jah looks for a takedown but Nicolosi sprawls well.

Jah is trying hard to land a takedown here. Nicolosi sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Nicolosi tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jah sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Nicolosi somewhat.
Jah is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Jah is defended easily by Nicolosi.
Jah misses with a few strikes there.
Jah tries to clinch up.
No joy there for Jah, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

It looks like Mauricio Nicolosi has been cut.
Nicolosi takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Nicolosi stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Nicolosi wants it to stay on the feet.

Jah forces Nicolosi back against the cage and clinches.
Nicolosi gets underhooks to prevent Jah's takedown attempt.
Nicolosi lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Jah gets through Nicolosi's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Nicolosi breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A combination from Jah does no damage.
Nicolosi tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Jah manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Nicolosi throws a jab when Jah was well out of range.
Jah uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Nicolosi.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Nicolosi is defended easily by Jah.
Jah looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Jah throws a right and a left that both miss.

Nicolosi darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Jah is trying to maintain the position but Nicolosi is very close to passing his half guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Nicolosi is nestled in close to Jah, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Joh Jah dominated that round.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Jah misses with a looping left.

Nicolosi clinches up with Jah and pushes him back against the cage.

Nicolosi's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Nicolosi fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Jah avoids it really well and circles away.
Jah with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Jah tries to close the distance and clinch but Nicolosi swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Jah's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Nicolosi connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Jah scrambles back to his feet.

Nicolosi gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Nicolosi wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Jah is pressed up against the cage. Nicolosi has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Jah down to the mat. Jah avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Nicolosi closes the distance and pushes Jah back into the cage.
Nicolosi misses with some punches.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Jah blocking some punches.
Jah struggles to land a body shot inside as Nicolosi controls his hands.
A right handed body shot lands from Jah.
Nicolosi is breathing heavily.

A right hand to the body from Jah.
Jah lands with a short shot to the head.
Jah lands a nice uppercut.
Jah lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Nicolosi backwards.

Jah escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Jah throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Nicolosi's waist but Nicolosi gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jah off to one side.
Nicolosi stuffs the takedown attempt from Jah. Jah gets slowly back to his feet.

Jah shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Nicolosi tries to hold on but Jah pushes him away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jah with a couple of short strikes.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Jah cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!


That has opened up Mauricio Nicolosi's cut even more.
Nicolosi keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Jah looking for a guillotine from mount but Nicolosi is having none of it.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Jah cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!


The cut above Mauricio Nicolosi's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jah working away from the top, dropping strikes.


Mauricio Nicolosi's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Mauricio Nicolosi's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
