The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Marciano stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Marciano wants it to stay on the feet.

and Smith counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Marciano throws a half hearted mid kick.
Smith thuds his right hand into Marciano's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Heath Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Marciano throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Marciano displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Smith.
