PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Hill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ted Coke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Coke comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Cocaine kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bobby Hill!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ted Coke!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Coke tries to clinch but Hill is having none of it.
Coke tries to close the distance and clinch but Hill swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
A telegraphed right hand from Coke misses the target.
Coke scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Coke tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Hill counters with a single leg into guard. Coke didn't expect that.
Hill looking to pass the guard.
Hill wants to control from the top but Coke keeps moving.

Coke is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Hill is aware though and is defending well.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hill stands and throws Coke's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Hill blocks the strikes from Coke.
Hill laying and praying for a moment but Coke takes advantage and regains half guard.
Hill slips a nice elbow through Coke's hands, connecting with Coke's forehead.
Hill sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Coke defending well though.
Coke is refusing to be controlled, as Hill sits in half guard.
Hill is controlling the pace.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Hill seems to be working for a kimura but Coke defends the submission attempt.
Hill is looking to take a break and control but Coke is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Hill content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Hill wants to lay and pray for a moment but Coke keeps working.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hill working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Coke is defending against the submission attempts here by Hill.
Hill not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Hill seems to be working for a kimura but Coke defends the submission attempt.
Coke keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Hill scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Hill sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Coke defending well though.
Coke really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hill. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Coke looks like he's trying to stand up.
Hill is looking to take a break and control but Coke is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Hill is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Coke defends it well.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hill throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bobby Hill dominated that round.
That's time! Hill's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Hill shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Coke as he jumps to the side.
Hill looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Coke throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Hill sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Coke uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
The fighters circling - Coke throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Hill connects with a crisp jab.
Coke uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hill.
Coke misses with a right hand

and Hill counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Hill postures up and lands a big shot to Coke's brow.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hill won't allow Coke to get back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Coke avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hill accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Hill trying to control but Coke is working from the bottom.
Hill makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Hill trying to control the position from guard on top but Coke is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Hill is in close to Coke's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Hill drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hill jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Hill with a flurry of punches that miss.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hill wants to control from the top but Coke keeps moving.
Coke can't keep his opponent in guard - Hill advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Hill is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Coke sees it coming and defends easily.
Hill trying to control from half guard but Coke is working away.
Hill trying to mount his opponent but Coke defends it.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hill wants to take a breather but Coke is having none of it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hill thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Coke's head.
Coke misses with some strikes from the bottom.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Hill lands a nice short elbow.
Hill with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Hill passes the guard and advances to mount!
Hill with shots to the head and body - Coke looks very uncomfortable down there.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hill with good strikes from the mount here!
BOOM! Hill connects with a massive shot to the dome!


Coke is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hill with a couple of short strikes.
Coke is still in real trouble! Can Hill finish him?
Hill looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Coke covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bobby Hill!
During a confident post fight interview, Bobby Hill thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
