The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santos fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Santos shoots in but no luck this time.
Santos misses with a takedown attempt - Win sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Win throws a nice looking combination but Santos bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Emerson Santos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Win stuffs the takedown attempt from Santos. Santos gets slowly back to his feet.
Win is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Santos closes this distance looking for a takedown but Win circles away.

Win uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Santos.

Santos changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Win tries to avoid it but Santos manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Win to the ground. Win escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Santos swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Santos shoots in for a takedown but Win shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Santos closes the distance and clinches up with Win, looking for a takedown. Santos pushes Win against the cage but Win circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Win avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Win wants to get back to his feet but Santos is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Win keeping moving, preventing Santos from controlling successfully.
Win really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Santos. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Santos looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Santos is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Win is just riding it out for now. Santos eventually gives up the hold.

Santos wants to work for an arm triangle but Win is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Win can do anything to dispel that myth.
