Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jeremy Staton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Simon Mann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Staton comes to the cage accompanied by Puff, The Magic Dragon. Simon Mann has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jeremy Staton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Simon Mann!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Bruno Lombardi and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Staton rushes Mann and presses him up against the cage.
Mann pushes off an throws an elbow but Staton leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Mann misses with a knee to the head.
Staton on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
A shot in the inside from Staton.
Mann blocks an uppercut.
Mann trying to land knees to the body.
Mann stalling.
Mann lands a nice elbow.

The referee is keeping an eye on Staton - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Mann looking to throw knees to the head but Staton is blocking nicely.

Staton is trying to trip Mann. He has hold of a leg but Mann is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Staton persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Staton seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Staton thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Mann's head.
Mann has his hands clasped together around Staton's back. He's all about the action.
Mann regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Staton.
Staton is fighting to break Mann's control of his arms but Mann is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Staton tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Mann was well out of range. Poor timing from Staton.
Mann connects with a leg kick. Staton looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Staton escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Mann pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Staton bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Mann wants to clinch.
Staton shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Mann as he jumps to the side.
Simon Mann has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Staton tries to clinch there but Mann circles away.

Staton fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Mann manages to avoid it.
Mann misses with an uppercut. Staton saw that one coming.

Mann misses with a low kick as Staton jumps back.

and Mann counters with a right hand to the body.
Staton throws a one two combo.
A combination from Staton does no damage.
Mann thows a body kick. Staton tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Staton lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Mann has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Mann and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Mann lands a lovely overhand right.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Staton checks a leg kick.
Mann misses with a body kick.
Staton bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Mann lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Staton wants to clinch up but Mann keeps it at a distance.
Staton misses with a takedown attempt - Mann sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Mann.
Staton is looking to wear down Mann with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Staton takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Staton takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Mann feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Staton's calf.
Staton steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Mann. That one must have hurt.

Mann gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Mann lands a nice knee to the body.

And that's the end of the fight!
Simon Mann comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Staton has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
