PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Alexander (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Donald Drysdale (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alexander comes to the cage accompanied by Ready to Die- Andrew WK. Donald Drysdale looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jimmy Alexander!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Donald Drysdale!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Chris Downing and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Alexander.
Drysdale looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Alexander has managed to clinch.
A nice right hand lands inside from Alexander.
With the fighters up against the cage, Drysdale throws an elbow but misses.
Drysdale trying to land knees to the body.
Alexander throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Drysdale blocks it with crossed arms.

Alexander with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Drysdale keeps control of Alexander as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Drysdale is fighting off a takedown attempt but Alexander is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Drysdale to the mat. Drysdale regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Alexander cracks Drysdale with a solid left hand.

Alexander might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Alexander gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Alexander closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Alexander decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

and Alexander counters with a big head kick but Drysdale shrugs it off.

Alexander decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Drysdale has hold of Alexander's hands but Alexander slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Drysdale tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

Alexander has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Drysdale looks like he's trying to stand up.

Alexander postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Drysdale to stand up.

and Alexander counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Drysdale's guard now.

Alexander throws a head kick but Drysdale moves out of range.

Alexander instigates a clinch.

Alexander has hold of one of Drysdale's legs. Drysdale is fighting the takedown attempt but Alexander gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Alexander passes Drysdale's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Alexander works his way into side control.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Alexander bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Drysdale takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Alexander lands a decent elbow from side control.
Alexander could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Drysdale takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Alexander is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Drysdale will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Drysdale is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Alexander off and has taken his back!

Drysdale doesn't have the hooks in and Alexander manages to turn into his guard.

Alexander gets to his feet. Drysdale looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Drysdale tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Alexander counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Alexander.
Alexander cracks Drysdale with a nice body shot.
Alexander is looking to break free of the clinch but Drysdale has double underhooks.
Alexander has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Drysdale avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Alexander has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Drysdale is trying to keep an underhook but Alexander manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Alexander is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Drysdale defends it well.
Alexander takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Alexander feints and as Drysdale raises his hands in defense, Alexander changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Alexander is in close to Drysdale's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Alexander decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Drysdale, up you get!

Alexander throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Jimmy Alexander is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Drysdale tries to clinch but Alexander moves away

and Alexander counters with a shoot takedown. Drysdale fights it but they end up in guard.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Alexander decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Drysdale, up you get!

Alexander tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
