PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mark Dai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sean Price (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Price's choice of entrance music: Twisted Sister - The Price. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mark Dai!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sean Price!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Daniel Cesar and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dai doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Price makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Price scores with a push kick.
The fighters circle momentarily. Price darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Price throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Dai closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Price did well to prevent Dai getting side control.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
The fighters are battling for position here. Price manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Price is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Price is keen to just control but Dai is a slippery customer.
Dai is trying to get back to full guard.
Price trying to mount his opponent but Dai defends it.
Dai is staying active underneath Price, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dai avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Price.
Dai keeping control of the position.
Dai wants to control but Price is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Dai controlling the position for now.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Mark Dai just wasn't active enough.

Price pushes Dai up against the cage in a clinch.
Dai goes for a takedown in the clinch but Price prevents it.
Price has Dai pressed against the cage.
A left hand lands to the body for Price.
Price lands a knee to the body.
Dai is trying to pull guard but Price turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mark Dai. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Dai is breathing heavily.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Price obliges.
Dai takes an elbow to the temple.
Price lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Price cracks Dai with a nice body shot.
Dai drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Price gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Price works on Dai's body with a couple of short punches.
Price has Dai pressed against the cage.
Dai looking to slow down the pace here.
Price utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body.
Nice body punch from Price - that landed with a thud.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Price comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Dai drops down looking for an ankle pick but Price pulls his leg out and moves away.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Dai takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
A jab from Price finds it's way through Dai's defenses.
A cross from Price lands.
Dai takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Price lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Price throws a nice outside leg kick.
Price fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Price lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Dai tries to move into range but Price moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
A good leg kick by Price.
That kick from Price tenderised Dai's leg. Dai is trying to keep his angry face on.
Price scoring well with a low kick there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sean Price dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Dai with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Price to score with a decent uppercut.
Price chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Price connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.


Dai is rocked!
Sean Price seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Price swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Oh Dai is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Price displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Dai.
Dai needs to keep his hands up - Price had a free shot at his head there.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Price - that will leave a mark!
Price connects with the punch.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Price drops Dai with a big left hand! Dai is injured, injured bad! Price jumps in and finished him with strikes! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:37 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sean Price!
After winning the bout, Sean Price thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
