Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Robin Padilla (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thomas has chosen Muse - Knights of Cydonia as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. This should be a great matchup!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Padilla throws a jab when Thomas was well out of range.
Thomas staying out of range there.
Padilla cracks a nice hook into Thomas's ribs.
Thomas slips a straight right by Padilla.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Padilla is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Padilla on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Padilla tries to get out of the position.

Thomas drops back looking for a leg! Padilla is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Padilla manages to kick Thomas off! Thomas jumps back into Padilla's guard.
Padilla wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Thomas wants to pass the guard but Padilla is keeping the position.

Thomas drops back, looking for a kneebar! Padilla looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Padilla looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Padilla!
Thomas is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Thomas manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Thomas looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Thomas seems to be looking for submissions.

Thomas is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Padilla is just riding it out for now. Thomas eventually gives up the hold.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
