PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Action Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Kermodian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kermodian has chosen Arctic Monkeys - Mardy Bum as his entrance music. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Mark Kermodian was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Action Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 18 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Mark Kermodian!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, William Peck and Trevor Gratis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kermodian fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Jackson is out of range.
Kermodian throws a jab when Jackson was well out of range.
The fighters circle momentarily. Jackson darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Kermodian lands with a kick to the temple. Jackson shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Kermodian will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Jackson swings for the body but Kermodian moves out of range.

Jackson closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Kermodian quickly recovers to half guard.
Kermodian gets full guard.
Jackson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kermodian on the ground.

Jackson drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Kermodian manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Jackson has Kermodian in his guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jackson looking for a sweep. Not yet Jackson, not yet.

Kermodian wants to pass the guard but Jackson is keeping the position.

Kermodian avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Kermodian is stalling in the full guard.

Jackson wants to stand up but Kermodian is controlling him.
Kermodian slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Mark Kermodian hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
That kick from Kermodian tenderised Jackson's leg. Jackson is trying to keep his angry face on.

Kermodian moves into the clinch.

Kermodian gets control of Jackson's arms and successfully pulls guard. Kermodian will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kermodian wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Kermodian is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Jackson is aware though and is defending well.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kermodian pulls Jackson in close to prevent any damage.

Kermodian escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jackson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Jackson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kermodian works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Kermodian wants to sweep here but Jackson controlling him for the moment.

Jackson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kermodian swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Kermodian is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Jackson frees his head nicely. Oh but Kermodian has switched to an armbar! Jackson is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
