Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Corey Cormier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Dube (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cormier comes into the arena with Pharoahe Monch - Simon Says blaring out of the sound system. Dube is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: The Notorious B.I.G. - Big Poppa. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Corey Cormier!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 19 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Michael Dube!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Robert Douchet and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cormier lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Cormier.
Cormier throws a series of punches but Dube avoids them all with ease.
Cormier misses with the combination.
Dube slaps away a takedown attempt from Cormier, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Dube lands with a thumping leg kick.
Cormier takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Cormier fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Cormier tries a head kick but it misses.
Cormier shoots for a takedown but Dube saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Corey Cormier. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Cormier gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Dube throws a leg kick which misses Cormier's front leg but catches the back leg as Cormier tries to avoid it.
Dube scoring well with a low kick there.
Dube lands the left hand.
Dube lands a nice shot that snaps Cormier's head back.
Dube fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Cormier takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Dube looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Cormier looks to land a combination but Dube avoids it well.
Some wild striking there from Dube.
Dube's jab looks to have found its range, popping Cormier under the eye.
Dube throws a leg kick which misses Cormier's front leg but catches the back leg as Cormier tries to avoid it.

Michael Dube seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cormier takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Cormier shoots in looking for a takedown. Dube tries to sprawl out of it but Cormier keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Dube manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Dube connects with a solid leg kick.
Michael Dube is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Dube connects with an inside leg kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Dube fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Cormier on the side of the head.
Cormier showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Dube.
Cormier takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Dube cracks Cormier with a good jab.

Dube lands with a good body shot.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Cormier. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Dube fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Cormier on the side of the head.
Dube moves out of range of the body kick.
The fighters circle momentarily. Dube darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Dube swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Cormier fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Dube avoids it really well and circles away.
Dube throws a right hand that Cormier ducks under and follows up with a left that Cormier also avoids with ease.
Good shot there by Dube.
Dube jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Dube is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Cormier had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Dube connects with a crisp jab.
Cormier has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Cormier there as he acknowledges the shot.
Dube is looking to slow Cormier down with leg kicks.
Cormier shoots for a double leg takedown but Dube sprawls well. He's pushed Cormier's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Dube, as that shot connected.
Dube lands a jab to the head.
Dube lands a jab to Cormier's midsection.
Dube scores with a three punch combo!
Dube scores with a leg kick.
Dube swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Dube fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Cormier has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Cormier blocks a head kick by Dube.
Cormier is looking to clinch.
Dube throws a series of punches but Cormier avoids them all with ease.
Cormier shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Dube as he jumps to the side.
Cormier on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Dube uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Dube catches Cormier with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Cormier is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
The fighters circling - Cormier throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Cormier drops his hands momentarily and Dube takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Cormier walks into a left hand.
Cormier throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Dube's waist but Dube gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Cormier off to one side.
Dube throws a series of strikes that have Cormier backpedaling.
Dube lands a glancing blow to the side of Cormier's head.
Dube bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Cormier's head backwards.
Cormier takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Cormier with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Dube to score with a decent uppercut.
A nice combination there by Dube.
Cormier fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Dube lands with a cross.
Dube shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Dube bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Cormier's head backwards.


Cormier is rocked!
Dube throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Oh Cormier is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Dube throws a head kick that Cormier semi-blocks.
It's a brutal combination of punches from Dube! Cormier is backing up but he can't get away as Dube lands with one final shot to the jaw that drops Cormier and ends the fight. Great knockout.
