Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chuck Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roman Wiher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Chuck Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Roman Wiher!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Paulo Santos and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wiher drives through with a takedown into guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Gracie is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Gracie looking to control.
Gracie wants to stand up but Wiher is controlling him.
Wiher trying to control the position from guard on top but Gracie is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Wiher drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Gracie dives on top into guard.

Gracie is fighting to break Wiher's control of his arms but Wiher is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Gracie shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Wiher napping and manages to drive through into side control!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Wiher can do anything to dispel that myth.

Gracie decides to return to a standing position.
Gracie tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Wiher displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Gracie.

and Gracie counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Chuck Gracie just wasn't active enough.

Wiher shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Gracie manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Gracie is breathing heavily.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Wiher is pushing down on Gracie's leg trying to pass to half guard. Gracie is fighting to maintain full guard but Wiher has managed to sneak the leg through.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Wiher is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Gracie doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Wiher.
Wiher thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

A close round but Roman Wiher will probably get the nod.

Wiher shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Wiher shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Gracie sprawls well. Gracie wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Wiher gets slowly back to his feet.

Wiher gets caught flat footed, as Gracie shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

We're going to have a standup here because Chuck Gracie wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Wiher shoots for a double leg takedown but Gracie sprawls well. He's pushed Wiher's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Chuck Gracie has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Roman Wiher.
Wiher wants to clinch.

Wiher looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Gracie!

Gracie keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Wiher avoids the attempt from Gracie to control.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Gracie is squirming around, avoiding Wiher's attempts to control the action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Roman Wiher showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Gracie wants to sweep but no luck.

Wiher drops back looking for a leg! Gracie is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Gracie manages to kick Wiher off! Wiher jumps back into Gracie's guard.

Wiher advances to half guard.
Gracie wants to control but Wiher is keeping busy and won't allow it.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Wiher looks for a takedown but Gracie sprawls well.
Wiher takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Wiher shoots in for a takedown but Gracie shows good takedown defense.
Gracie changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Wiher tries to avoid it but Gracie manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Wiher to the ground. Wiher escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Wiher shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Wiher was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

We're going to have a standup here because Chuck Gracie wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

and Wiher counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Gracie is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Wiher shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Gracie defends it nicely.
Chuck Gracie has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Roman Wiher.
Wiher circles away from the clinch attempt.
Gracie pulls out of a head kick attempt.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Gracie misses with a wild combination.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Gracie enables Wiher to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Gracie manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

And that's the end of the fight!
Roman Wiher comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Wiher has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
