Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Artem Vaits (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jakub Witczak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Artem Vaits!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jakub Witczak!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Aleksandr Martynov and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Witczak stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Witczak wants it to stay on the feet.
Witczak shoots in looking for a takedown. Vaits tries to sprawl out of it but Witczak keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Vaits manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Witczak keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
No luck for Vaits with that takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Artem Vaits. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Witczak makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Vaits really felt that one!

Witczak throws a front kick that sends Vaits stumbling back into the cage.
Witczak tries to close the distance and clinch but Vaits swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Witczak throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Vaits was covering up waiting for the punch and Witczak finishes the takedown easily into guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Vaits is looking for a triangle but Witczak pushes his legs off easily.
Witczak advances to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Witczak seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Vaits does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Witczak seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Witczak is nestled in close to Vaits, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Witczak working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Witczak is controlling the pace.
Witczak is trying to control. Vaits wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Vaits kicks Witczak off and gets back to his feet.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Vaits enables Witczak to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Vaits manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Vaits is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Vaits has momentary wrist control but Witczak slips an elbow through the middle.
Vaits is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Witczak is controlling him.

Witczak postures up and lands a big shot to Vaits's brow.

Witczak sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Vaits's guard.
Witczak winds up and cracks Vaits with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Witczak really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Vaits. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Witczak seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Witczak connects with a nice short shot to Vaits's temple.

Vaits is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Witczak pulls his head out easily.

Witczak is taking a breather. Vaits says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Artem Vaits seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Witczak shoots for a takedown but Vaits saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Vaits looking for a triangle here. Witczak is fighting it but it looks tight! Vaits pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Witczak is tapping out - this one is all over!

Artem Vaits spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
