Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Malik Mixon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Young Alliance (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Mixon might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Every Knee Shall Bow. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Daniel Franklin and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alliance wants to clinch.
Alliance throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Alliance gets caught napping as Mixon dives in and scores a takedown. Alliance manages to retain guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Alliance is adopting a defensive guard.
Mixon looking to pass the guard.
Mixon is fighting to break Alliance's control of his arms but Alliance is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Mixon throws an elbow that misses. Alliance uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Mixon's guard. Nice move by Alliance!

Alliance stands up over Mixon, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mixon looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Alliance puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Mixon stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Mixon wants it to stay on the feet.

Alliance pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Mixon throws a sloppy head kick and Alliance moves out of range easily.
Mixon shoots for a takedown but Alliance saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Mixon displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Alliance.
Alliance wants to clinch up but Mixon keeps it at a distance.
Mixon pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Mixon doesn't manage to clinch there - Alliance circles away.
Alliance throws the kick towards the body but Mixon avoids it.
Mixon fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Mixon pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Mixon swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Mixon shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Alliance manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Mixon is breathing heavily.
Alliance manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Mixon tries to keep at a distance but Alliance has taken the fight into the clinch.
Mixon gets underhooks to prevent Alliance's takedown attempt.
Malik Mixon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Young Alliance.
Mixon is working Alliance over against the cage.
Alliance has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Mixon avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Alliance.

Mixon wants to stand up but Alliance has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Mixon is stalling here. Alliance is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Mixon seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Alliance has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Mixon misses with a wild combination.
Horrible takedown by Mixon or perhaps it was just good defense by Alliance which made him look bad.
Alliance keeps the fight on the outside.
Alliance closes the distance and clinches.

Mixon is trying to stand up here but Alliance is controlling him well.

Young Alliance has got the better of the ground game so far.

Alliance is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
