PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tom Pazur (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricky Hatton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Tom Pazur!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Ricky Hatton!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, James Glass and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pazur dives in and scores a takedown into Hatton's guard.
Hatton wants to sweep here but Pazur controlling him for the moment.
Hatton is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Hatton is working for a submission of some sort.
Pazur is not content to let Hatton control the position.
The fighters are battling for position here. Pazur manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Pazur has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Hatton off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Pazur instigates a clinch.

Pazur has clasped his hands together around Hatton's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Pazur throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Hatton is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Hatton is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

Pazur decides to take the fight back to the feet.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Pazur darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Pazur throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Pazur seems to be looking for submissions.
Pazur is thwarting Hatton's attempts to control the position.
Hatton looks like he's trying to stand up.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Pazur uses his free foot to push down on Hatton's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Hatton.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Pazur lands a heavy elbow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Back to the action!



Pazur fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Hatton to the ground. Pazur is now in Hatton's guard.
Pazur has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Hatton looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Pazur seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pazur is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Tom Pazur wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Hatton misses with a series of wild punches.
Pazur misses with a few strikes there.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Pazur wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Hatton has him pressed against the cage.
Pazur misses with an elbow over the top.

Pazur jumps guard and drags Hatton to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Pazur working for a triangle but Hatton defends it easily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Pazur throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

Hatton controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Pazur wants to stand but Hatton is controlling the position.

Pazur pushes Hatton off and scrambles back to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Pazur misses with a kick to the body.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hatton shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Pazur as he avoids it easily.
Hatton throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Pazur's waist but Pazur gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hatton off to one side.

Pazur closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Pazur lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.

Hatton really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pazur. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Pazur decides to stand up, so the ref orders Hatton to his feet.
Hatton circles away from the clinch attempt.

Pazur gets a clinch.

Pazur has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Hatton clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Pazur has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Hatton! Can he survive? No! He's out! Pazur gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:21 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Tom Pazur!
