Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Phil Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vincent De Meyer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davis shoots for a double leg takedown but De Meyer sprawls well. He's pushed Davis's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
De Meyer should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Davis fails with the takedown.
Phil Davis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
De Meyer connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Davis shoots for a takedown but De Meyer saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Phil Davis. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Davis shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

De Meyer clinches up with Davis and pushes him back against the cage.

Davis tries to get to full guard but De Meyer has control of the leg.

De Meyer tries to circle away but Davis has him pinned against the cage.

De Meyer has had enough of the clinch but Davis keeps him there for the moment.
Davis is trying to drag De Meyer to the mat but De Meyer just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

De Meyer has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Davis uses from the top position.
De Meyer thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Davis accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

De Meyer wants to sweep here but Davis controlling him for the moment.

Davis throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as De Meyer works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
De Meyer really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Davis. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
De Meyer throws his legs up looking for a submission but Davis uses it to pass to side control.

Davis wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by De Meyer, who protects the arm well.

Davis is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but De Meyer is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

De Meyer tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Davis lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns De Meyer.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Phil Davis will probably get the nod.

Davis is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
De Meyer is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Davis has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but De Meyer can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Davis wants to stand but De Meyer is controlling the position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Davis manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. De Meyer manages to get himself to full guard.

Davis's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
De Meyer scores with a couple of good head shots there.
De Meyer is landing with some decent strikes but Davis is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Davis tries to hold on but De Meyer postures up.

Davis has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

De Meyer wants to take a breather but Davis is having none of it.
De Meyer tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Davis.
Davis manages to get to full guard.

Davis escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. De Meyer gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Davis will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Davis is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and De Meyer defends well.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
De Meyer slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

De Meyer got a little sloppy there for a moment and Davis has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, De Meyer has managed to get both his arms back between Davis's legs - danger averted.

That was a close second round but I would say that Phil Davis will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Davis shoots in looking for a takedown but De Meyer manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Davis's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Davis doesn't manage to clinch there - De Meyer circles away.
De Meyer lands a two punch combo.
Davis tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
De Meyer swats away the attempt to clinch by Davis.

Davis throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. De Meyer was covering up waiting for the punch and Davis finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Davis stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. De Meyer swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Phil Davis just wasn't active enough.

De Meyer closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

De Meyer wants to stand but Davis is controlling his arm.
De Meyer is working Davis over with some ground and pound from side control.

Davis is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! De Meyer has his hands clasped together but Davis extends an breaks De Meyer's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Davis.
