The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

and Edwards decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Quale's guard.

Quale really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Edwards. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Edwards's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Edwards stands and throws Quale's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Edwards is working to tighten is grip on Quale's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Quale has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Edwards is really squeezing tight and eventually Quale passes out! Edwards breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
