The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lynch throws a head kick that misses.
Lynch throws a front kick that sends Mai stumbling back into the cage.
Lynch feints and then cracks Mai's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Mai down.
Lynch throws a body punch but Mai moves out of range.
A good leg kick by Lynch.
Lynch throws a jab but it's blocked by Mai.
Mai moves out of range as Lynch throws a body kick.
Lynch takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Lynch takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Lynch shoots in for a takedown but Mai shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Mai throws a solid leg kick but Lynch takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Mai.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
A head kick misses from Lynch.
Mai misses with a few strikes there.
Mai ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Mai stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Mai wants it to stay on the feet.
Mai scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Mai misses with a two punch combination.
Mai lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Lynch tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
A punch lands to the side of Lynch 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Lynch walks into a stiff left hand from Mai.
Mai lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Lynch backs up against the cage.
Mai is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Lynch rather than just go for the knockout.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Mai tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Mai stalks Lynch and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Lynch's face. Lynch staggers backwards, shaken.
Mai connects with a leg kick. Lynch looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Lynch fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Mai has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Mai tries to bum rush Lynch with a series of wild strikes but Lynch uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Mai will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Mai blocks a low kick nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Lynch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Scott Lynch. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Lynch throws a low kick, looking for Mai's leg but Mai calmly moves out of range.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Lynch. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Lynch takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

and Mai counters with a three punch combo that has Lynch backing up. Lynch nods at Mai to acknowledge the strikes.

Mai lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Lynch backs up against the cage.
Mai fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

A nice inside leg kick there by Lynch. That's going to slow Mai down.

Lynch shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Mai as he avoids it easily.
Mai scores with a nice strike.
Mai lands a left and a right that send Lynch crashing to the mat, dazed. Mai thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Lynch is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Mai avoids a kick to the body.
Oh Lynch is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Mai connects with an inside leg kick.
Lynch has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Lynch there as he acknowledges the shot.
Lynch slips a jab and a cross from Mai.
Mai connects with a nice looking jab.
Mai lands with a big left! Lynch is wobbled badly! Mai comes in with a flurry of punches and drops Lynch to the floor. The ref jumps in to save him from unneccessary punishment.
