Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Harris Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cain Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cain Rua is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martin misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Martin throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Rua's waist but Rua gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Martin off to one side.
Rua finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Martin closes this distance looking for a takedown but Rua circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Harris Martin. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Rua misses with a series of wild punches.

Martin will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Rua up against the cage.

Rua has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Martin uses from the top position.
Rua tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Rua stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Rua wants it to stay on the feet.

Martin shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Rua pinned against the cage. Rua gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Rua lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

Martin swats away the attempt to clinch by Rua.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Rua fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Martin, pushing him back against the cage.
Rua throws an elbow that misses.
Rua tries a body shot but Martin blocks it.
Rua creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Martin's defenses.

It looks like Harris Martin has been cut.

Martin manages to pull guard.
Martin is trying to control the position but Rua postures up.

Rua drops back looking for a leg! Martin is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Martin manages to kick Rua off! Rua jumps back into Martin's guard.
Rua keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Martin's head.

Rua works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Rua looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Rua scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Rua slips a nice elbow through Martin's hands, connecting with Martin's forehead.

Rua is looking for a kimura but Martin is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Rua to get the leverage.

Martin is looking to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cain Rua dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Harris Martin's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Rua lands a big shot there that rocks Martin but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Rua looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Rua is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Martin is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Martin flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Rua anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Martin and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Rua slips an arm under Martin chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Rua has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Rua is squeezing on Martin like an anaconda would it's prey. Martin fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
