PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jin Sen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and YB Sol (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sen comes to the cage accompanied by Let It Rock. Sol is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by SFIV - Theme of Ryu 2. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as YB Sol enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 28 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jin Sen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, YB Sol!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sen fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Sol throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Sen counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
A nice inside leg kick there by Sen. That's going to slow Sol down.
Sol lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.


It looks like Jin Sen has been cut.
Sol throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Sol throws a lazy uppercut
and Sen makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Sol throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
A big right from Sol misses.
Sen closes the distance and lands a one-two.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Sen looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Sol throws out a loose jab but Sen uses good head movement to avoid it.
Sen misses with a hook.
Sen walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Sol throws an overhand right that lands on Sen's shoulder, as Sen tries to avoid the shot.
Sen tries to land a front kick but Sol steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Sen scores with a slapping inside leg kick.

Sen with a hook.
Sol loads up on a big right hand but Sen slips the punch.
Sol will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Sol looks to land a left hand but Sen moved out of range nicely.
Sol shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Sen defends it nicely.
Sol throws a jab when Sen was well out of range.
Sol misses with a lunging right hand
and Sen makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

Sen takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Sol lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Sen fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Sol.

A looping hook to the body misses from Sen. Sol does a little dance to reset his feet.
Sen moves out of range of the strikes.
Sol swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Sen drops his hands momentarily and Sol takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Sol might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Sol throws a shot from downtown. Sen moves away and avoids it.

The crowd cheers as Sol lands an impressive looking overhand right. Sen doesn't seem phased though.

Sen tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Sol is able to avoid easily.

Sen throws a hook to the side of Sol's head but Sol sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Sol looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Sen uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Sol.
Jin Sen is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Sol takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Sol throws out a loose jab but Sen uses good head movement to avoid it.
Sen takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Sol displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Sen throws out the jab.

and Sen counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Nice straight punches there by Sol. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Sol.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Sen uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Sol.
Sol misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Sol is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Sen.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Sol.

Sol shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Sen pinned against the cage. Sen gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Sol fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Sen manages to avoid it.

Sen takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Sol misses with a double jab.
Sen displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Sol throws out the jab.
Sen gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Sen keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Sen throws a looping overhand right but Sol ducks down to avoid it.

Sol lands with an uppercut that bounces Sen off the cage and back into range.

Sol drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

YB Sol showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

YB Sol seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Sen throws a solid leg kick but Sol takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Sen.

Sol drives through with a takedown into Sen's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sol slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Sol has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Sol lands a big shot there that rocks Sen but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Sen is desperately trying to improve his position but Sol has a good base and remains in mount.
Sen is squirming around, avoiding Sol's attempts to control the action.
The referee warns Sen that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Jin Sen has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

YB Sol has got the better of the ground game so far.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sol postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Sen looks a forlorn figure.

Sol looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Sol cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Sol is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Sen is surviving well by controlling Sol's body position as best he can.

And that's the end of the fight!
YB Sol comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Sol has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
