The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Griffin misses with a hook.
Koivisto doesn't manage to clinch there - Griffin circles away.
Koivisto shoots in but Griffin avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Koivisto.
Griffin misses with a wild combination.
Griffin drops Koivisto with a left right combo! Griffin follows him down to the ground into side control.

Koivisto is rocked!

It looks like Tuomo Koivisto has been cut.
Griffin throwing shots but missing, from side control.
Koivisto on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Koivisto tries to get out of the position.
Koivisto tries to improve position but can't.
Koivisto defending against the ground and pound.
Koivisto parries the strikes from Griffin easily there. Griffin is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Koivisto to escape.
The strikes coming from Griffin are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Griffin is looking to take a break and control but Koivisto is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Koivisto manages to get back to half guard.
Koivisto is breathing heavily.

Griffin thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Koivisto's head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Griffin will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Griffin looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Griffin throws a series of punches but Koivisto moves out of range.
Griffin lands a nice shot that snaps Koivisto's head back.
Koivisto takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Oh Koivisto is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Griffin dances in with a quick combination. Koivisto is being worked over with jabs and crosses. Oooh, a right straight from Griffin snaps Koivisto's head back. Koivisto stumbles backwards against the cage. Griffin steps forward and delivers a right cross that connects with Koivisto's jaw, simultaneously knocking him out and sending his mouthpiece into the crowd! There's a worthy souvenir for the fans. This one is over folks. Koivisto just didn't come prepared.
