Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Samuel Paelinck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rene Roco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Samuel Paelinck!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rene Roco!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Taro Takaoka and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Paelinck shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Paelinck is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
Paelinck will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Paelinck throws a head punch that misses.

Paelinck tightens his grip and picks Roco up, before dumping him to the ground. Roco manages to land in guard.

Paelinck drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Paelinck jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Roco with a couple of shots from the bottom there - nothing Paelinck can't handle though.

Paelinck fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Roco, pushing him back against the cage.

Paelinck wants the takedown. Roco is fighting it off but Paelinck persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Roco's guard against the cage.

Roco manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Paelinck manages to get himself to full guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they both work up against the meshing.
Roco wants to control from the top but Paelinck keeps moving.
Paelinck is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Roco is controlling him.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Roco changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Paelinck drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Roco is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Paelinck bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Roco shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Paelinck counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Paelinck has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Roco tries to lock up and control but Paelinck gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Roco bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Roco would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Paelinck is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Well, if Paelinck is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
