James comes to the cage accompanied by We Want The Funk by George Clinton & the P-Funk Allstars. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sting Steiner!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James tries to clinch but Steiner moves away
and Steiner counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Steiner misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from James.

James clinches up against the cage.
James lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

James breaks from the clinch.
Steiner scores with a leg kick.
James tries to clinch but Steiner is having none of it.
Steiner circles away from the clinch attempt.
James throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Steiner just misses with a punch to the body.
James lands with a hook. Steiner tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

James rushes Steiner and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Steiner manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

James lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
James wants to clinch.

James looks to land a combination but Steiner avoids it well.
Steiner swats away the attempt to clinch by James.
James pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

James tries to land knees in the clinch but Steiner avoids the damage to the body.
Steiner throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Jamess head.
Steiner's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

James pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Steiner loads up on a big right hand but James slips the punch.
Steiner is looking to chop away at James's legs.
James feints a jab promting Steiner to slip. James then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Steiner slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Steiner throws a low kick but it's checked well by James.
Nice defenses there by Steiner.

and James counters with a stiff right hand.
James scores with a head kick. Steiner tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

James uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Steiner.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
James doesn't manage to clinch there - Steiner circles away.
James ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Steiner moves away.

and Steiner counters with a low kick, right behind James 's knee.

James fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Steiner looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

James tries to clinch but Steiner is having none of it.
James takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
James throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Steiner.

Well James has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
