The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stylez fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Chavez gets a takedown into half guard.
Chavez is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Chavez has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Chavez wants to take a breather but Stylez is having none of it.

Stylez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Chavez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Chavez jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Stylez manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Chavez is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Stylez looks calm but he's in trouble here. Chavez gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Stylez is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Chavez lets go of the hold and Stylez can pop his arm back in it's socket.
