Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Paulo Antonio!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sterben Olympic!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Mauricio Rocha and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Antonio doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Olympic counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Antonio's guard now.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Olympic pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Antonio is keeping the position for now.

Antonio is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Olympic is aware though and is defending well.

Antonio has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Olympic can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Antonio working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Olympic doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Olympic manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Olympic wants to lay and pray for a moment but Antonio keeps working.
Antonio is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Olympic's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Antonio is controlling Olympic's trapped leg to prevent Olympic from advancing to side control.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Olympic is pressing down on Antonio's thigh, looking to free his foot. Antonio is holding on for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Antonio shoots in for a double leg but Olympic sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Antonio has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The referee warns Olympic that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Antonio fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Antonio cracks Olympic with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
