Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Frank Pembelton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ok Ko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pembelton's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Hail Mary by Tupac. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frank Pembelton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ok Ko!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, George Francis and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pembelton blocks a leg kick.
A bone on bone clash there as Pembelton blocks the leg kick.
Pembelton swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Ko clinches.

Ko tries to land knees in the clinch but Pembelton avoids the damage to the body.

Ko has Pembelton pressed against the ropes.

Ko is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Pembelton is keeping busy.

Pembelton swings for the body but Ko moves out of range.

Ko fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Pembelton.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Ko is working to avoid the ground and pound but Pembelton connects with a decent elbow.
Ko is looking for a sweep.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Pembelton creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Ko sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Ko takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Pembelton tries to score with some ground and pound. Ko controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Pembelton throws a strike aimed at the side of Ko's head but Ko avoids it well.
Ko is trying to get back to his feet.
Ko really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pembelton. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Pembelton is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Ko is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Pembelton has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ko is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Ko tries to buck Pembelton off but Pembelton is having none of it.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Pembelton throws an elbow but Ko slips to the side and avoids it well.
Pembelton creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Ko sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Pembelton's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Ko throws out a leg kick but Pembelton moves out of range and Ko only half commits.

Ko leaves Pembelton with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Pembelton dives in and grabs Ko's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ko pushes down on Pembelton's head and hops out.

Pembelton bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Pembelton thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Pembelton is trying to control the action in half guard but Ko is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ko can do anything to dispel that myth.

Ko feints and then cracks Pembelton's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Pembelton down.

Ko stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Ko wants it to stay on the feet.

Pembelton sizes up Ko with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Ko throws a low kick, looking for Pembelton's leg but Pembelton calmly moves out of range.

Ok Ko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Pembelton throws a lazy right hand but Ko sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Pembelton looks to land a left hand but Ko moved out of range nicely.

Ko connects with a leg kick. Pembelton looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Pembelton is trying to pull guard but Ko turns him against the ropes and we stay in the clinch.
Ko is looking to control Pembelton's arms but Pembelton gets an underhook and turns him. Now Ko has his back to the ropes.
Ok Ko has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Frank Pembelton is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Ko scores with a shot to the side of Pembelton's head.
Ko can't find room to land a body shot as Pembelton controls the action.
Pembelton jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Ko walks away with a smile on his face. Pembelton gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Ko connects with an inside leg kick.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Pembelton shoots in and bounces Ko off the ropes to secure the takedown into guard.

Ko looking for a guillotine here but Pembelton defends easily.

And that's the end of the fight!
Ok Ko comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Pembelton has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
