The judges for this bout are George Francis, Wesley Smith and Alan Glass.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Saxon, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Swoop gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Swoop has Saxon pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Swoop pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Saxon tumbling to the mat - Swoop dives into Saxon's guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Swoop passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Saxon really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Swoop. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Swoop stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Mathew Swoop seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Swoop pushes Saxon up against the cage in a clinch.
Swoop is struggling to control the position.
Swoop lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Swoop escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Swoop buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Swoop closes the distance and clinches.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Swoop.

It looks like Achillies Saxon has been cut.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Swoop takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Swoop has hold of one of Saxon's legs. Saxon is fighting the takedown attempt but Swoop gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Swoop seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Swoop stands and steps away. Saxon gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Swoop gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Saxon regains guard.

Swoop fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Saxon, pushing him back against the cage.

Saxon is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Swoop to keep the fight standing.

Swoop connects with a knee to the head.

Swoop pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Swoop jumps guard.

Swoop is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Swoop has hold of one of Saxon's legs. Saxon is fighting the takedown attempt but Swoop gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Swoop gets to his feet - Saxon follows without any prompting.

Swoop drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Swoop decides to stand back up. Swoop steps back and let's Saxon get back to his feet.
Swoop connects with a body shot that sends Saxon's belly button to the back.

Swoop drives through and clinches with Saxon against the cage.

Swoop escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Swoop closes the distance and pushes Saxon back into the cage.

Saxon takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Swoop scoring well with a low kick there.

Swoop forces Saxon back against the cage and clinches.

Swoop breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Swoop manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Swoop pulls Saxon in close to prevent any damage.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Swoop wriggles free and stands up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Swoop gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Swoop has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Saxon is trying to keep an underhook but Swoop manages to get the takedown into half guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Swoop is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Mathew Swoop overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Swoop stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Saxon is breathing heavily.

Swoop fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Saxon.

Swoop looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Swoop perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Swoop seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Saxon for as long as he can get away with.

Swoop escapes and gets back to his feet.

Swoop closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
You can see the frustration on Saxon's face as Swoop controls the position.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Swoop has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Swoop fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

Come on Swoop - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

A bit of stalling here from Swoop.
Swoop is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Saxon can do to turn this around?

Swoop has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Saxon uses from the top position.

Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Swoop! Saxon is out on his feet! Swoop rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Saxon is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Saxon is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
