Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Krzysztof Kulak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Latundan El Banana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Krzysztof Kulak!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Latundan El Banana!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kulak gets caught napping as El Banana dives in and scores a takedown. Kulak manages to retain guard.
El Banana is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as El Banana accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
El Banana has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Kulak's face.

El Banana is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

El Banana is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Kulak can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

El Banana is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Kulak to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Kulak shrugs it off.

Kulak might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Kulak tries to hold on but El Banana pushes him away.
Kulak is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because El Banana is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Kulak is desperately trying to improve his position but El Banana has a good base and remains in mount.
Kulak is squirming around, avoiding El Banana's attempts to control the action.
Kulak wants to control but El Banana is having none of it.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Latundan El Banana dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Kulak throws a low kick, looking for El Banana's leg but El Banana calmly moves out of range.

El Banana changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kulak looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Kulak is not content to let El Banana control the position.
Kulak prevents El Banana from improving position.

Kulak can't do much from the bottom here.
El Banana advances nicely into full mount.

El Banana has control of Kulak's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Kulak regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Kulak is in all sorts of trouble here.

El Banana is taking a breather. Kulak says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
El Banana tries to pass to full mount but Kulak defends it.
Kulak is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
El Banana is just content to waste time from the top position. Kulak takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
El Banana passes Kulak's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Kulak is looking to improve his position.
El Banana looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Kulak with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
El Banana is trying to control the action in half guard but Kulak is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
El Banana wants to free his trapped foot but Kulak is holding on for dear life with his legs.
El Banana uses his free foot to push down on Kulak's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Kulak.
Kulak tries to lock up and control but El Banana gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, El Banana cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Latundan El Banana showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!



El Banana feints and as Kulak raises his hands in defense, El Banana changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
El Banana wants to control from the top but Kulak keeps moving.
El Banana stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kulak swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well El Banana has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
