Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between John Toby (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexander Wrestler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, John Toby!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alexander Wrestler!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Viktor Lagutenko and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Toby fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Toby looks to score with a jab to the body but Wrestler is just out of range.
Wrestler shoots in but no luck this time.
Toby fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Wrestler looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Toby swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Wrestler decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Wrestler content to control rather than advance.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Alexander Wrestler was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Toby shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Wrestler sprawls well. Wrestler wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Toby gets slowly back to his feet.
Toby throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Toby swings for the body but Wrestler moves out of range.
Wrestler throws a hook but Toby avoids it easily.

Wrestler drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Wrestler takes a little break here. Toby wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Toby is looking to reverse the position.

Wrestler stands up and beckons Toby to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
No luck for Wrestler with that takedown attempt.
Toby misses with a wild body shot.
A punch combination from Toby misses.
Wrestler avoids a kick to the body.
Wrestler throws the left hand but Toby avoids the punch easily.
Wrestler fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
John Toby has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alexander Wrestler.

Toby misses with a body shot

and Wrestler counters with a takedown into side control.
A lull in the action here as Wrestler stalls from top position.

Wrestler wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Toby, who protects the arm well.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Wrestler looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alexander Wrestler dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Wrestler drives through with a takedown into Toby's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Wrestler controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Alexander Wrestler.
Wrestler scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Toby looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Wrestler bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Wrestler moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Toby is looking to regain half guard here but Wrestler keeps moving and retains side control.
Toby can't do much from the bottom here.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of John Toby.
Toby connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Toby is looking to wear down Wrestler with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Wrestler looks to land a right hand but Toby moved out of range.
Wrestler tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Toby paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Wrestler ducks under a wild hook from Toby.
John Toby is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Toby misses with a double jab.
Wrestler tries to close the distance and clinch but Toby swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Toby swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Toby stuffs the takedown.
Toby fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Wrestler looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Wrestler avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Wrestler moves out of range of the body kick from Toby.
Toby darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Wrestler closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Toby pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alexander Wrestler showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


A telegraphed takedown attempt from Toby is defended easily by Wrestler.
Wrestler changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Toby tries to avoid it but Wrestler manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Toby to the ground. Toby escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Wrestler doesn't manage to clinch there - Toby circles away.
Toby misses with a wild combination.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Toby is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Wrestler.

Wrestler shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Wrestler postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Toby looks a forlorn figure.

Wrestler throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Toby has his hands clasped together but Wrestler breaks the hold and Toby is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Wrestler!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:36 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Alexander Wrestler!
