PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Phenom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Kent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kent has chosen I'll be Back as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Marcus Phenom!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Peter Kent!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yukihiro Shimada and Hirohito Nitta.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Phenom keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Kent takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

It looks like Peter Kent has been cut.
Phenom waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Kent.
Phenom uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Kent.

Phenom gets tackled into the cage by Kent. Kent maintains the clinch.

Kent breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Phenom misses with an uppercut
and Kent counters with a straight right hand.
Kent looks to throw the jab but Phenom is out of range.
Phenom connects with a good right hand that stumbles Kent. Kent circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Phenom throws a series of punches but Kent moves out of range.
Kent fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kent gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Kent escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Kent uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Phenom.
Phenom throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Phenom steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Kent.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kent lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
A big left from Phenom misses.
Phenom feints a jab promting Kent to slip. Phenom then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Kent slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Kent thows a body shot but no joy.
Phenom throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Kent moves away from the strike by Phenom.
Nice jab there from Kent.
Kent misses the shot to the body.
Phenom thows a left - swing and a miss!
Kent uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Phenom.

Kent clinches with his opponent.
Kent keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Phenom's efforts to push away.

Kent breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Kent keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Phenom.
Kent throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Phenom stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Phenom missing with a left hand there. Kent was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
