PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Boobs McGrabbin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlos Dossier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Boobs McGrabbin has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Boobs McGrabbin seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Albert Achterberg and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dossier feints and as McGrabbin raises his hands in defense, Dossier changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Dossier won't allow McGrabbin to sweep him here.

McGrabbin escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Dossier gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

McGrabbin on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if McGrabbin tries to get out of the position.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as McGrabbin holds on and takes a little breather.

Dossier postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

McGrabbin has his foot on Dossier's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Dossier works his way back into a safe position though.

Dossier stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. McGrabbin swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Carlos Dossier hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Dossier tries to clinch up but McGrabbin circles away and keeps his distance.
A bone on bone clash there as McGrabbin blocks the leg kick.

McGrabbin shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

McGrabbin wants to work for an arm triangle but Dossier is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
McGrabbin slips a nice elbow through Dossier's hands, connecting with Dossier's forehead.
Dossier tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

McGrabbin content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

McGrabbin is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
McGrabbin wants to pass the guard but Dossier is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

McGrabbin is working for a kimura but Dossier is defending it quite comfortably.
Dossier wants to get back to full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
McGrabbin wants to free his trapped foot but Dossier is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Dossier looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Dossier wants to lay and pray for a moment but McGrabbin keeps working.

Dossier avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Dossier loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
McGrabbin looking to hit a scissor sweep but Dossier is one step ahead there.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

McGrabbin is not content to let Dossier control the position.
McGrabbin is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Dossier's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Dossier's back!

You can see the frustration on Dossier's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!



Dossier shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches McGrabbin napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Dossier is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so McGrabbin is just riding it out for now. Dossier eventually gives up the hold.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting McGrabbin here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Boobs McGrabbin.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for McGrabbin, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
