PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Chu Park (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Holmes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Jon Holmes was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Chu Park!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jon Holmes!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Kenichi Hosakawa and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Park wants to clinch up but Holmes keeps it at a distance.
Holmes cracks Park with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Holmes throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Park tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Holmes is in Park's guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Holmes throws an elbow that misses. Park uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Holmes's guard. Nice move by Park!

Park stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Holmes swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
The fight stays on the outside here - Park looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Holmes stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Park swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Holmes looks up at the clock and then as Park takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Holmes smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Holmes wants to lay and pray for a moment but Park keeps working.
Holmes scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Park to see if he's OK.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Chu Park has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Well Holmes has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
