PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Relentless AD (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexander Fourie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fourie has chosen ''Not Afraid'' by Eminem as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alexander Fourie!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Tiny Johnson and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fourie tries for a takedown but AD circles away easily
and AD counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

AD avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
AD throwing strikes from guard but Fourie blocks nicely.
AD trying to control but Fourie is working from the bottom.

AD drops back looking for a leg! Fourie is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Fourie manages to kick AD off! AD jumps back into Fourie's guard.

AD throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Fourie escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. AD gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

AD seems to be looking for submissions.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

AD throws an elbow but Fourie slips to the side and avoids it well.
AD trying to control the action but Fourie is working from the bottom.
Fourie is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

AD is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Fourie defends it well.
AD thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

AD with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

and AD counters with a stiff right hand.

AD gets caught flat footed, as Fourie shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
AD is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
AD wants to stand and escape but Fourie is having none of it.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
AD controls Fourie momentarily but Fourie frees himself.
Fourie tries to free his leg and advance position but AD is retaining full guard.

Fourie drops back, looking for a kneebar! AD looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. AD looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from AD!

AD is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Fourie is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

AD is looking to take a break and control but Fourie is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

AD is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Fourie has escaped the position, nice work there.
AD trying to control the position but Fourie is working away.

AD swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Fourie.
AD tries a low kick but Fourie avoids it.
Fourie doesn't succeed with the takedown
and AD counters with a straight right hand.
AD swings and misses with a hook to the body.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
