Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Diablo Sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matthew Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Diablo Sanchez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Matthew Silva!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Eliza Hachem and John Mangel.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanchez misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Silva tries for a takedown but Sanchez circles away easily

so Sanchez counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Sanchez postures up in Silva's guard and throws a big left but Silva blocks it.

Silva working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sanchez doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sanchez manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Silva had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Sanchez is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Silva Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Sanchez's back instead.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sanchez has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Sanchez shoots in looking for a takedown. Silva tries to sprawl out of it but Sanchez keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Silva manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Silva darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Sanchez is defending against the submission attempts here by Silva.

Silva thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Sanchez's head.
Sanchez is staying active underneath Silva, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Sanchez wants to sweep here but Silva controlling him for the moment.
Sanchez manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Sanchez cracks Silva with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Sanchez cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Diablo Sanchez dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Horrible takedown by Sanchez or perhaps it was just good defense by Silva which made him look bad.

Silva shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Sanchez's guard.

Silva is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Sanchez bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Silva's guard.

Sanchez scores with a big shot! Silva's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Silva! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!
