The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machado doesn't manage to clinch there - McPuncherson circles away.
Punchy McPuncherson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McPuncherson stuns Machado with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
McPuncherson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Machado was well out of range. Poor timing from McPuncherson.
Machado throws a right hand that McPuncherson ducks under and follows up with a left that McPuncherson also avoids with ease.
Machado takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

The fighters circle momentarily. Machado darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
A looping hook to the body misses from Machado. McPuncherson does a little dance to reset his feet.
McPuncherson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Machado manages to avoid it.

Machado lands with a nice combination. McPuncherson backs away looking to recover.

McPuncherson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

McPuncherson has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Machado tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but McPuncherson paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Machado lands a left hand that snaps the head of McPuncherson backwards.

Machado pushes McPuncherson against the cage. Machado is working some dirty boxing. Machado pushes off with a quick right hook! McPuncherson goes down! McPuncherson tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Machado moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!
