The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Taylor connects with the punch.
De Silva fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
De Silva ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

De Silva throws his legs up looking for a submission but Taylor uses it to pass to side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Taylor is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. De Silva is trying to escape and Taylor transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and De Silva is forced to tap! Nice work there by Taylor! Very nice indeed!
