Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Ayila Obasi!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, William Gold and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beckwith looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Beckwith throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Beckwith tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
No luck for Beckwith with that takedown attempt.
Obasi wants to clinch.
Beckwith with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Joseph Beckwith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Beckwith swings for the body but Obasi moves out of range.
Beckwith pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Obasi back to the cage. Beckwith follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Beckwith jabs at Obasi's body.
Horrible takedown by Beckwith or perhaps it was just good defense by Obasi which made him look bad.
Beckwith misses with a wild combination.

Beckwith scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Beckwith tries to clinch but Obasi is having none of it.
Beckwith shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Obasi but Obasi pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joseph Beckwith. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Beckwith throws a series of punches but Obasi avoids them all with ease.

and Obasi decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Beckwith's guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Obasi pushes down on Beckwith's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Obasi is taking a breather. Beckwith says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Obasi has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Beckwith defend it? Obasi steps over the head and cranks it - Beckwith is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Obasi!
