Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Cody Willis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Willie Wynn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wynn is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Flower Of Scotland - Red Hot Chilli Pipers. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

With a record of 10 - 11 - 0, fighting out of London, Cody Willis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Willie Wynn!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, William Gold and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Willis tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Wynn was well out of range. Poor timing from Willis.
Wynn cracks the inside of Willis's front leg.
Willis misses with a right hand
and Wynn counters with a nice leg kick.
Wynn uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Willis.
Willis misses with a series of wild punches.
Wynn tries to close the distance and clinch but Willis swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Wynn missing with a left hand there. Willis was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Willis misses with a double jab.
Wynn tries to clinch there but Willis circles away.
Some wild striking there from Willis.
Wynn scores with a one two! Willis had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Wynn avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Willis throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Willis will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Wynn swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Wynn showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Willis.
Willis throws the left hand but Wynn avoids the punch easily.
Willis moves away from the strike by Wynn.
Cody Willis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wynn tries to close the distance and clinch but Willis swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Wynn throws a hook but Willis blocks it.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The crowd cheers as Willis lands an impressive looking overhand right. Wynn doesn't seem phased though.


It looks like Willie Wynn has been cut.
Willis drops his hands momentarily and Wynn takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Willis misses with a lunging right hand
enabling Wynn to counter with a crisp jab.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

and Willis counters with a left to the body.
Willis misses the jab.

Oooooh!!! Willis has knocked Wynn down with a huge combo! Willis steps away and waves a wobbly Wynn back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

and Wynn connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Wynn throws a right hand that Willis ducks under and follows up with a left that Willis also avoids with ease.
Willis misses with a wild body shot.
Willis looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Wynn throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Wynn seems to have recovered his senses.
A jab from Wynn finds it's way through Willis's defenses.
Wynn moves in looking to clinch but Willis pushes him off.

Wynn slips under a jab from Willis.
Wynn tries to clinch but Willis moves out of range.
Wynn ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Wynn misses with a wild combination.
Willis lands a right hook to the body.

Willis throws a leg kick
and Wynn cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Willis looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Wynn tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Willis avoids a punch combination nicely.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Wynn misses with a two punch combination.
Willis throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Wynn holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Willis is trying to break the clinch but Wynn is controlling him.

Wynn breaks the clinch.
Wynn uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Willis.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Willis misses with a straight right.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Wynn throws a lazy right hand but Willis sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
A nice inside leg kick there by Wynn. That's going to slow Willis down.
Willis lands a nice hook to Wynn's body. Wynn takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Willis looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Willis fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Wynn manages to avoid it.
Cody Willis is winning the standup battle so far.

Wynn gets in close and instigates a clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Still in the clinch, Wynn scores with a nice short uppercut.
Willis wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Wynn pushes Willis back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.

Wynn pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Willis throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Willis scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Willis doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Wynn looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Wynn rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Willis moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Willis swinging wildly here.
Willis uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Wynn.
Willis throws a big shot that misses.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Nice jab there from Wynn.
Willis throws a right and a left that both miss.
Willis stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Wynn.
Willis swats away the attempt to clinch by Wynn.
Willis staying out of range there.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Wynn tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Willis manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Willis throws a poor cross that misses
and Wynn counters with a thumping low kick.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Wynn tries to clinch there but Willis circles away.
The fighters circling - Willis throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Cody Willis.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Willis, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
