Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Simon Taylor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ping Pong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Taylor comes to the cage accompanied by Rest of My Life, KottonMouth Kings. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ping Pong!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Ian Loll and William Peck.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Taylor throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Pong shoots in and drives through. Taylor sprawls well.
Pong throws a jab but it's blocked by Taylor.
A swing and a miss from Pong.

Taylor clinches with his opponent.
Taylor prevents a takedown attempt there.
Taylor has Pong pressed against the cage, preventing Pong from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Pong throws a head punch that misses.

Taylor's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Pong throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Taylor's waist but Taylor gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Pong off to one side.
Simon Taylor has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ping Pong.
Taylor lands with a shot to the body.
Taylor moves out of range of the strikes.

Pong shoots in and gets a takedown into Taylor's guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Taylor looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Pong passes into side control.
Pong passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Taylor!
Pong is landing with some decent strikes but Taylor is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Taylor is bucking up trying to escape but Pong cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Taylor really wants to buck Pong off and get back to his feet.
Taylor is breathing heavily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Taylor regains half guard.

Pong is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Pong is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Taylor has managed to free his arm - good work.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Pong lands a nice short elbow.

Pong is trying to work for a kimura but Taylor is defending well.
Pong scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Pong keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Taylor tries to kick Pong off but Pong keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Pong is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Pong is working for a submission of some sort.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Pong lands a nice short elbow.

Pong is working for a kimura but Taylor is defending it quite comfortably.
Pong wants to take a breather but Taylor is having none of it.

Pong looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Taylor is refusing to be controlled, as Pong sits in half guard.

Pong is trying for a kimura here. Taylor looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Pong wins by kimura!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Ping Pong!
Ping Pong decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
