PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dean Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Grzegorz Schab (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Schab comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Monopol - Zodiak na melanżu kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Grzegorz Schab!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, James Atkins and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martin throws a body punch but Schab moves out of range.
Martin throws a front kick aimed at Schab's knee but Schab avoids it well.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Martin, as that shot connected.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Schab.
Martin scores with a head kick.
Schab shoots in looking for a takedown but Martin manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Schab's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Martin fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Schab has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Martin managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Schab.

Martin is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Schab has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Schab shoots for a double leg takedown but Martin sprawls well. He's pushed Schab's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
A looping hook to the body misses from Martin. Schab does a little dance to reset his feet.

Schab has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Martin.
Dean Martin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Grzegorz Schab has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Martin stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Martin wants it to stay on the feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Martin will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Dean Martin is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
