Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Eddie Sanchez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Fubar Pogue!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, James Glass and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pogue is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Pogue tries to clinch up

and Sanchez decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Pogue's guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Sanchez prevents Pogue from getting back to his feet.
Sanchez trying to control the position from guard on top but Pogue is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Pogue is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Sanchez is controlling him.
Sanchez will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Pogue closes the distance looking to clinch
and Sanchez counters with an outside leg kick.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Sanchez fails to land with a series of punches.
Sanchez throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Fubar Pogue seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pogue looks to clinch

and Sanchez counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Sanchez pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Pogue moves into the clinch.

Sanchez gets control of Pogue's arms and successfully pulls guard. Sanchez will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Pogue must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Pogue has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Sanchez is proving hard to escape from.

and Sanchez counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Pogue!

The referee warns Pogue that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Sanchez wants to control the pace but Pogue is squirming around nicely.

Sanchez has control of Pogue's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Pogue regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Sanchez is landing with some decent strikes but Pogue is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Pogue is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

Sanchez has hold of Pogue's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Pogue manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Sanchez is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Pogue to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Pogue shrugs it off.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sanchez has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Pogue's face.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Sanchez cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Sanchez's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Sanchez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Pogue is defended easily by Sanchez.

Pogue shoots in for a takedown but Sanchez shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Eddie Sanchez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fubar Pogue.

Pogue gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Sanchez to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Sanchez is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Pogue can do to turn this around?
