Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Hurricane Helms (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Daniels (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Helms comes to the cage accompanied by Superhero. Jack Daniels is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hurricane Helms!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jack Daniels!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Alan Glass and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Daniels tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Helms swivels and escapes.

Daniels gets tackled into the cage by Helms. Helms maintains the clinch.

Helms pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Helms moves into the clinch successfully.

Helms jumps into guard, dragging Daniels to the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Helms tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Daniels wants to control from the top but Helms keeps moving.
Helms throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Daniels avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Daniels is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Helms looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Daniels stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Helms swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Helms preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Helms has his foot on Daniels's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Daniels works his way back into a safe position though.
Daniels is fighting to break Helms's control of his arms but Helms is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Helms is looking to stand up but Daniels isn't so interested in that idea.
Helms working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Daniels.
Daniels throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Daniels pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Helms is keeping the position for now.
Daniels works a leg free and moves into half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Daniels takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Helms keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Helms avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Daniels.
Helms is looking to control Daniels's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Helms avoid being mounted?

Daniels is working for a submission of some sort.

Helms trying to hold on to Daniels's head to control him but Daniels postures up.

Daniels seems to be working for a kimura but Helms defends the submission attempt.

Daniels is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Daniels looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Helms with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Helms kicks off Daniels and gets to his feet.
Daniels swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Daniels tries for a takedown. No joy.
Daniels misses with a body punch.

Helms has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Daniels uses from the top position.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Daniels accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Helms keeping moving, preventing Daniels from controlling successfully.

That was a close round but I would say that Hurricane Helms will probably get the nod.

Daniels lands a head kick. Helms smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
The fight stays on the outside here - Daniels looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Helms moves into range and clinches up with Daniels.

Helms breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Daniels tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

and Helms counters with a three punch combo that has Daniels backing up. Daniels nods at Helms to acknowledge the strikes.

Daniels throws a sloppy head kick and Helms moves out of range easily.

Helms throws a head kick that misses.
Helms lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Helms scores with a nice strike.
Helms feints a jab promting Daniels to slip. Helms then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Daniels slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Daniels takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Daniels on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Helms. Helms obviously looking to wear him down.

Helms gets a clinch.
Daniels tries a body shot but Helms blocks it.

Helms breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Daniels gets tackled into the cage by Helms. Helms maintains the clinch.

Helms shoots in for a takedown but Daniels shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Daniels moves in looking to clinch but Helms pushes him off.
Daniels lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Daniels wants to clinch up but Helms keeps it at a distance.
Helms swats away the attempt to clinch by Daniels.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Daniels!
Helms tries to score a power double leg takedown but Daniels sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Helms somewhat.
Daniels is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Daniels throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Helms.

Helms lands with a good body shot.
Helms looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Daniels tries a head kick but it misses.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!



Helms has Daniels up against the cage in a clinch.

Helms jumps guard and drags Daniels to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Daniels loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Helms manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Helms's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Daniels is trying desperately to improve position.
Helms controlling from mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Daniels is looking to improve his position but Helms isn't that keen on the idea.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Helms connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Daniels is looking to get to half guard.
Helms lands with some strikes.

Helms has control of Daniels's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Daniels regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Helms lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Daniels hang on?
Helms is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Daniels can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Helms content just to control the position here.
Hurricane Helms overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Daniels tries to reverse the position but Helms maintains control.

Helms takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Jack Daniels has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Hurricane Helms is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Helms swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Daniels is now in Helms's guard. A big mistake from Helms there, giving up the dominant position!

And that's the end of the fight!
Hurricane Helms showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Helms has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
