Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hernando Cortez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Del Spooner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Hernando Cortez has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Hernando Cortez seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spooner misses with a wild body shot.

Cortez shoots in and bounces Spooner off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Cortez drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Cortez jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Cortez wants to control from the top but Spooner keeps moving.
Cortez throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Spooner works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Cortez is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Cortez accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Cortez throwing strikes but missing.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cortez sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Spooner's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Spooner is defending against the submission attempts here by Cortez.
Spooner wants to sweep but Cortez has passed to side control!

Cortez is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Spooner is trying to escape and Cortez transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Spooner is forced to tap! Nice work there by Cortez! Very nice indeed!
