Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gerrard Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Chandler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gerrard Jones has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Tiny Johnson and Robert Twigg.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Chandler instigates a clinch.
Jones is pushing Chandler up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Jones lands an elbow that stopped Chandler in his tracks for a moment.
Jones keeps control of Chandler as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Jones breaks the clinch.
Jones feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Chandler's calf.
Jones fails with a takedown attempt.
Chandler throws a push kick but Jones slaps the foot to one side.
Jones looks to land a combination. Chandler sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Chandler tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Jones swivels and escapes.
Jones shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Chandler but Chandler pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Jones gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Chandler trying to control but Jones is working from the bottom.
Jones pulls Chandler in close to prevent any damage.

Jones pushes Chandler off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Jones misses with a kick to the body.
Chandler takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Jones lands a body shot.
Chandler looks to clinch

and Jones counters by moving into the clinch.

Jones pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Jones scores with a takedown into Chandler's guard.
Jones is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Jones tries to stand but Chandler is controlling from the bottom.
Jones sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Chandler's guard.
Chandler on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Jones looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Chandler moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Chandler is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Jones lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Jones trying to stand up but can't free himself from Chandler's guard.
Chandler bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jones's guard.

Chandler got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jones has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Chandler has managed to get both his arms back between Jones's legs - danger averted.

Jones looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Jones is breathing heavily.
Jones wants to stand up but Chandler is controlling him.
Chandler is pushing down on Jones's leg trying to pass to half guard. Jones is fighting to maintain full guard but Chandler has managed to sneak the leg through.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jones is trying to stand up here but Chandler is controlling him well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jones wants to control but Chandler is keeping busy.
Chandler slows the pace down in half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gerrard Jones dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Chandler misses with a few strikes there.

Jones gets a takedown into half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Jones in particular looking to stall.
Jones seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Chandler does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Chandler is trying to stand.
Chandler is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Jones's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Jones's back!
I really don't envy Jones right now.

Jones tries to roll but Chandler sticks to his back.

Chandler keeps control of the position easily here as Jones tries to buck him off.

Chandler is cranking Jones's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Jones! He's tightened the choke and Jones is tapping out!

A very excited looking Mike Chandler made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
