PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Yousaf Kurracon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Simon Adebisi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yousaf Kurracon had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Yousaf Kurracon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Simon Adebisi!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Paul Aken and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Adebisi gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Kurracon to score an easy takedown into full guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Kurracon engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Yousaf Kurracon.
Kurracon avoids the head kick by Adebisi.
Adebisi tries a head kick but it misses.
Kurracon on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.

Kurracon shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Kurracon was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Kurracon takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Yousaf Kurracon just wasn't active enough.
Adebisi misses with a head kick.
Adebisi looks to score with a jab to the body but Kurracon is just out of range.

Kurracon closes the distance and clinches up with Adebisi, looking for a takedown. Kurracon pushes Adebisi against the cage but Adebisi circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Adebisi defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Kurracon.
Kurracon has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Adebisi finds it's way round the side to connect with Kurracon's head.
Adebisi tries a head kick but it misses.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Adebisi throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Adebisi keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Kurracon shoots in and gets a takedown into Adebisi's guard.
Kurracon advances to half guard.
Kurracon passes to side control.
Kurracon controlling the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Kurracon has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Yousaf Kurracon has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Adebisi slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Kurracon shoots in for a takedown but Adebisi shows good takedown defense.
Adebisi connects with a body shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Yousaf Kurracon dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Kurracon shoots and misses
and Adebisi counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Adebisi scores with a head kick. Kurracon tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Adebisi lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Kurracon at a distance.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Kurracon.
A head kick misses from Adebisi.
Adebisi is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Kurracon rather than just go for the knockout.
Adebisi feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Kurracons jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Adebisi gets caught flat footed, as Kurracon shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kurracon stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Adebisi swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Kurracon sitting in guard here, content to control.
Kurracon seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Adebisi for as long as he can get away with.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Kurracon takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Kurracon dives in and grabs Adebisi's left leg, looking for a takedown. Adebisi pushes down on Kurracon's head and hops out.

Adebisi pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Kurracon shoots for a double leg takedown but Adebisi sprawls well. He's pushed Kurracon's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Adebisi scores with a head kick. Kurracon tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Yousaf Kurracon is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Horrible takedown by Kurracon or perhaps it was just good defense by Adebisi which made him look bad.

Adebisi connects with a high kick.

Kurracon shoots for a takedown but Adebisi saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Adebisi listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Adebisi stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Adebisi fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Adebisi tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Adebisi digs a good body shot into Kurracon's ribs.
Adebisi throws a good cross that connects.
Kurracon takes a kick to the side of the head.
Oh Kurracon is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
This has been an exciting period of action!

Simon Adebisi is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Adebisi punishes Kurracon's body with a nice straight punch.

Adebisi lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Adebisi lands a nice looking body shot.
Adebisi lands a glancing blow to the side of Kurracon's head.
Adebisi pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Adebisi connects with a body shot that sends Kurracon's belly button to the back.
Kurracon seems to have got his legs back now.
Adebisi cracks a nice hook into Kurracon's ribs.
Kurracon takes one on the button.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

A jab lands there for Adebisi.
Adebisi lands with a cross.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Simon Adebisi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Kurracon takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Kurracon walks into a stiff left hand from Adebisi.
Kurracon changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Adebisi tries to avoid it but Kurracon manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Adebisi to the ground. Adebisi escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Adebisi keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Yousaf Kurracon. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Kurracon throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Adebisi's waist but Adebisi gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kurracon off to one side.

Kurracon takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Kurracon is trying hard to land a takedown here. Adebisi sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Adebisi moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

Adebisi lands a left and a right that send Kurracon crashing to the mat, dazed. Adebisi thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Adebisi pounces like a tiger and cracks Kurracon with a vicious hook! Kurracon is down but not out! Adebisi follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:29 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Simon Adebisi!
