Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Carlos Rivera!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tyler Durden!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Anni Minnemäki and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rivera shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Rivera was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Rivera looking to ground and pound but Durden is blocking nicely.
Rivera controlling from mount.
Durden avoids a series of strikes thrown by Rivera.
Rivera trying to control but Durden is having none of it.
Durden is working to get back to half guard.

Rivera throwing strikes here but Durden is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rivera can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Durden is looking to escape.
Rivera prevents Durden from getting the reversal.
Rivera has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Rivera trying to control but Durden is having none of it.
Rivera throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.

Durden is looking to get to half guard.
Rivera in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Durden is squirming around, avoiding Rivera's attempts to control the action.
Durden is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Durden avoids a series of strikes thrown by Rivera.
Durden tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Rivera forces the positional change into back control.
Even with his hooks in, Rivera manages to miss with strikes from the back.
Durden is really stuck here.

Rivera tightening his grip on Durden, looking for the choke.
Durden breaks Rivera's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Rivera is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Durden stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rivera swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Rivera is looking to stand up but Durden isn't so interested in that idea.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Durden trying to control the position from guard on top but Rivera is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Carlos Rivera dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Durden is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Rivera takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Rivera lands a jab to Durden's midsection.
Rivera defending well as Durden loads up on a big left hand.
Durden tries to land a leg kick but Rivera saw it coming and moves away.
Durden slips under a jab from Rivera.
Durden looks for a takedown but Rivera sprawls well.
Rivera lands a jab to Durden's midsection.
Durden looks to throw the jab but Rivera is out of range.
The fight stays on the outside here - Durden looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Durden tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Rivera tries to move into range but Durden moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Durden throws a right hand that misses
and Rivera counters with a leg kick.
Durden scores with the left hand. Rivera knows he should have avoided that one.
Rivera on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Durden misses the shot to the body.
Durden keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Rivera.
Rivera uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Durden.
Durden lands with a cross.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Durden tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Rivera paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Rivera slips a jab and a cross from Durden.
Rivera with a hook.
Durden thows a body shot but no joy.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Durden lands a jab.

Rivera closes the distance and clinches.
Durden throws a punch but it's blocked by Rivera.

Rivera escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Durden gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Rivera breaks from the clinch.
Durden throws a predictable looking body shot
and Rivera counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Durden is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Rivera throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Rivera checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Durden throws a right hand that Rivera ducks under and follows up with a left that Rivera also avoids with ease.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Durden lands a really nice looking cross but Rivera seems unphased.
Rivera ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Durden moves away.
Durden misses with a looping right.
Durden swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Rivera comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Tyler Durden seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Durden throws an off balance right hand
and Rivera counters with a thumping low kick.
Rivera lands a nice shot to the body.
Durden is breathing heavily.
Rivera throws a nice inside leg kick.
Rivera fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Durden has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Rivera closes the distance and clinches.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Rivera breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Rivera catches Durden with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

A telegraphed right hand from Durden misses the target.
A left and a right from Durden both land. Nice combination.
Durden throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Rivera connects with a high kick.
Durden thows a leg kick but Rivera checks it
enabling Rivera to counter with a crisp jab.


Durden is rocked!
Rivera is stalking Durden. Durden circles to his left. Keeps circling left. Bam! Straight right from Rivera, and it's lights out! Durden really payed the price for that rookie mistake.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:34 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Carlos Rivera!
During a confident post fight interview, Carlos Rivera thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
