The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Jones tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Kikui counters with a nice double leg into side control. Jones won't be happy with that.

Kikui tries for a kimura but Jones is defending well.
Kikui creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Jones sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Jones tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Kikui prevents Jones from escaping the position.

Kikui is looking to take a break and control but Jones is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Kikui working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.

The referee asks Kikui politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Kikui prefers to stall for the moment though.
Jones tries to buck Kikui off but Kikui is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jones is not content to let Kikui control the position.

Kikui thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Kikui wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jones keeps working.

Kikui lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Jones down.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kikui postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Jones badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Kikui around the waist but Kikui pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Kikui is the winner by TKO! Kikui jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
