The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nelson moves into the clinch successfully.
Mercy has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Nelson shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Mercy is trying to defend but Nelson finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Nelson wants to work for an arm triangle but Mercy is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
