Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Phil Brooks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yuri Votrov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brooks comes to the cage accompanied by Cult of Personality. Phil Brooks could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Yuri Votrov's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Yuri Votrov!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Bruno Hogan and Damien Edna.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Brooks. No joy for Votrov on that attempt.
Votrov throws a head kick but Brooks moves out of range.

Brooks forces Votrov back against the cage and clinches.

Brooks has picked Votrov up - he's going for a ride! Brooks dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Brooks takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Votrov trying to control from the bottom.
Brooks works his foot free and advances to mount.
Votrov is trying to stand.
Votrov is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Brooks throws some wild stikes that Votrov manages to avoid easily.
Brooks can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Votrov is looking to escape.
Votrov sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Votrov blocking the ground and pound attempt from Brooks.
Votrov gets back to full guard.
Brooks missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Brooks would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Brooks trying to control the position from guard on top but Votrov is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Votrov has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Brooks can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Brooks is fighting to break Votrov's control of his arms but Votrov is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Votrov looking to control but Brooks passes into half guard.

Brooks decides to stand and escape the position.
Brooks tries a head kick but it misses.
Votrov tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Brooks paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Votrov looking to score a takedown here. Brooks is defending well but Votrov drives through and ends up in Brooks's guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Votrov accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Brooks is working an open guard so Votrov takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
A head kick misses from Brooks.
Votrov tries to close the distance and clinch but Brooks swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Votrov does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Brooks throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Votrov was covering up waiting for the punch and Brooks finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Brooks is breathing heavily.
Votrov is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Brooks engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Votrov is looking for a triangle but Brooks pushes his legs off easily.

Votrov has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Brooks should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Votrov has tightened it up now! Brooks should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
