The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Summer Carpenter and Bruno Hogan.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sushi shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Townsend drives through and clinches with Sushi against the cage.

Townsend's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Sushi on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Townsend. Townsend obviously looking to wear him down.

Townsend closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Townsend lands with a kick to the temple. Sushi shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

That kick from Townsend tenderised Sushi 's leg. Sushi is trying to keep his angry face on.
The fight stays on the outside here - Sushi looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Sushi fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Townsend checks it well.

Sushi changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Townsend tries to avoid it but Sushi manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Townsend to the ground. Townsend escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Sushi . He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Townsend lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Townsend wants to stand and escape but Sushi is having none of it.

Townsend wants to hit a switch here but Sushi passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Townsend there!

Townsend is looking to improve his position but Sushi isn't that keen on the idea.

Townsend sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Townsend moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Townsend throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Sushi escapes and throws Townsend's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Sushi tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Sushi has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Sushi is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Townsend is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Sushi remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Townsend regains half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Well Townsend has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
