Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Preston Barksdale (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and cj gordan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). gordan comes into a darkened arena with his song building. metallica enter sandman kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Preston Barksdale has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barksdale throws a leg kick but gordan moved away.
Barksdale tries to bum rush gordan with a series of wild strikes but gordan uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
No luck for Barksdale with that takedown attempt.
Barksdale misses with a double jab.
gordan uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Barksdale.
Nice uppercut there from Barksdale.
The fighters circling - Barksdale throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Barksdale fails to land with a series of punches.
gordan shoots in for a takedown but Barksdale shows good takedown defense.

A left and a right from gordan both land. Nice combination.
gordan throws a sloppy head kick and Barksdale moves out of range easily.
gordan lands a nice hook to Barksdale's body. Barksdale takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Barksdale shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

The fighters circle momentarily. Barksdale darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

gordan throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
gordan bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

gordan throws a front kick that sends Barksdale stumbling back into the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Good leg kick by gordan there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

gordan scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
gordan lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Barksdale backs up against the cage.

and gordan counters with a three punch combo that has Barksdale backing up. Barksdale nods at gordan to acknowledge the strikes.
gordan tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Barksdale swivels and escapes.
Barksdale throws a sloppy body shot
and gordan counters with a body kick.
A slapping leg kick lands for gordan.
gordan is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Barksdale misses with an uppercut
and gordan counters with a solid body kick.
gordan throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Barksdale.
gordan lands a front kick.
Preston Barksdale seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Barksdale throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and gordan counters with a thumping low kick.

A nice leg kick lands there from gordan.

gordan goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
gordan scores with a one two! Barksdale had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Barksdale misses with a double jab
and gordan counters with a series of strikes. Barksdale will be more careful next time no doubt.
Barksdale will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body.
gordan lands a high kick!

Barksdale feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Barksdale might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Barksdale slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Barksdale passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Barksdale is working to tighten is grip on gordan's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. gordan has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Barksdale is really squeezing tight and eventually gordan passes out! Barksdale breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
